Fire

Fire brings animation, visibility, and the kind of instant connection that draws a room's attention without trying. Its shadow is reactivity and fast burnout, or a dependence on constant external validation to keep the flame lit; its gift is inspiring leadership, intuitive warmth, and the ability to execute quickly and brilliantly once something has genuinely caught. In the Wu Xing cycle, Fire feeds Earth and is checked by Water: Water's depth is what keeps Fire's animation from consuming the very structure it is meant to illuminate. The growth edge is keeping a stable inner flame rather than an unmanaged blaze that burns through whatever structure surrounds it.
