Ascendant Chart Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Ascendant Chart (ascendantchart.com, the "Service") collects, uses, and shares information when you use a personalized astrology and self-discovery platform combining natal astrology, Human Design, Gene Keys, and other systems into one profile, with AI chat guidance. It applies to all users of the Service.

Information We Collect

• Account information: email address, and any profile details you provide (such as a display name or avatar).
• Authentication data: if you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive the basic profile information that provider shares, and we never see or store your password with that provider.
• Content you provide: any information you submit to use the Service's features.
• Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and basic device/browser information, collected through analytics tooling.
• Billing information: our payment processor handles your payment card details directly; we receive only limited billing metadata (such as subscription status and plan) and never store full card numbers.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain the Service; authenticate you and secure your account; respond to support requests; understand how the Service is used so we can improve it; and communicate with you about your account or material changes to the Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train third-party AI models beyond what is necessary to power in-Service AI features you directly invoke.

Sharing & Third-Party Processors

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf to operate the Service, under obligations to protect it, including:

• Our database and authentication provider (Supabase), which stores account and application data.
• Our email delivery provider, used to send transactional emails such as sign-in links and account notifications.
• Analytics providers, used to understand aggregate usage patterns.
• Our payment processor (Stripe), used to process subscription payments.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Service, our users, or others.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Your Rights & Choices

You can access, update, export, or delete most of your data directly within the Service. For anything you cannot manage yourself, contact us at support@ascendantchart.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law, such as the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing — contact us to exercise these rights.

If you signed in with Facebook, you can also request deletion directly from Facebook: go to Facebook's Settings → Apps and Websites, remove Ascendant Chart, and select the option to delete your data. Facebook notifies us automatically, and we delete the Ascendant Chart data associated with that Facebook account.

Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used, through analytics tools such as Google Analytics and PostHog. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect Service functionality.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@ascendantchart.com and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as posting an updated effective date or emailing account holders. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
