Metal

Metal carries contraction, precision, and clear, well-defended boundaries. Its shadow is cold detachment or a harsh judgment of others, an inflexibility that mistakes rigidity for standards; its gift is clean logic, sharp focus, and the discipline to cut away genuine inefficiency rather than just cutting for its own sake. In the Wu Xing cycle, Metal feeds Water and is checked by Fire: Fire's warmth is what keeps Metal's precision from turning into pure coldness. The growth edge is softening the edge in collaboration, since vulnerability turns out to be its own kind of strength.
