Ascendant in Aries

The Ascendant is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth, and it describes manner and approach rather than character. Rising in Aries, it produces a brisk, direct first impression: quick to speak, quick to move, comfortable going first. Mars rules the chart, so the condition of Mars colors the whole reading. The pace can read as impatience, and a blunt delivery sometimes lands harder than intended. An accurate birth time is required, since the Ascendant changes sign roughly every two hours.
