Independence at odds with identity, producing abrupt breaks until reflex is told apart from need.
Identity and the urge to break free work against each other, so life proceeds in abrupt segments. These people disrupt their own arrangements, resign from situations that were working, and describe themselves as unable to settle. Early life often features an erratic or absent father, or a household that moved too often for a stable self to form. The discipline this eventually forces is the useful part: learning to tell a real need for freedom from a reflex against being held. Charts that make that distinction produce genuine reformers. Charts that do not produce a long series of exits.
