Missing Element

A missing element means none of the ten planets fall in any sign belonging to one of the four elements: Fire, Earth, Air, or Water. That's not a deficiency so much as a note the rest of the chart has to compensate for: the qualities associated with the missing element (spontaneity for Fire, groundedness for Earth, sociability for Air, emotional depth for Water) don't come built in, and tend to be developed consciously rather than expressed instinctively.
