Notable Retrograde

A notable retrograde flags a personal planet (Mercury, Venus, or Mars) doing something it rarely does at the moment of birth: moving backward relative to Earth. Because these three planets spend comparatively little of any given year retrograde, one lands in a birth chart less often than the outer planets' much longer retrograde windows, and traditionally marks that planet's themes as processed inwardly first, expressed more deliberately rather than instinctively.
