The Descendant

The Descendant sits exactly opposite the Ascendant, on the western horizon, and marks the cusp of the seventh house. It describes what a person meets in others: the qualities looked for in a partner, the type of person drawn in, and the terms on which close one-to-one dealings are conducted. Being the opposite sign to the Ascendant, it usually holds traits the person does not claim as their own. It is derived from the Ascendant and shares the same sensitivity to timing, so an accurate birth time is required.
