Exaltation

Exaltation is the second dignity. Each planet is exalted in one particular sign, where tradition holds it is received as an honored guest: the Sun in Aries, the Moon in Taurus, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Pisces, Mars in Capricorn, Jupiter in Cancer, Saturn in Libra. The placement shows the planet at its most admired and often its most conspicuous, though a guest has less control of the house than its owner. Read exaltation as a placement that shows well and can be relied on, slightly less rooted than rulership and more dependent on the setting.
