Air

Air is shared by Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. It stands for thought, language, comparison and social exchange, and it prefers to step back from a situation far enough to see the whole of it. A chart weighted in air is usually articulate, curious and even-handed, and can talk around a feeling rather than sit in it. A chart light in air may reason perfectly well but takes less naturally to explaining itself, weighing alternatives, or treating an opinion as separate from the person holding it. The Sun, Moon and Ascendant count for more than the slow-moving planets.
