Mercury in the 9th house

The 9th house rules long travel, higher study, law, publishing and belief. Mercury here wants the wider view and reads toward it. Languages, teaching and writing at length are common, and study abroad or a long stay in another country often features. Ideas get collected from well outside the neighborhood. The difficulty is the opinion held as fact: Mercury in this house can argue a conviction with all the fluency of a case it has never actually tested.
