Mercury in Sagittarius

Sagittarius is mutable fire ruled by Jupiter, and Mercury is in its detriment here: the sign wants the whole view where Mercury works by parts. These people think in principles, generalizations and plans, and they are candid to the point of tactlessness. Teaching, travel and philosophy suit them. The cost is precision, since details get waved through and a confident summary can be wrong in ways that matter. This Mercury is often right about the direction and careless about the arithmetic.
