Progressed Retrograde and Direct Stations

Progressed Retrograde and Direct Stations

The year a natal planet changes direction by progression, read as a lasting change of orientation.

A planet that changes direction shortly after birth will do so by progression, and the year it stations is treated as significant for whatever that planet governs. Mercury and Venus station most often, since they turn retrograde several times a decade; Mars does so less frequently. A progressed station is read as a change of orientation rather than as an event: an inward turn at a retrograde station, a resumption of outward expression at a direct one. The effect is slow, covering several years, and happens only once or twice in most lives.
