What it means
Where Life's Work comes from the conscious Sun and describes an identity someone can name and choose, Purpose comes from the unconscious Design Earth and operates underneath conscious awareness, felt more as instinct or orientation than as a goal someone sets out to pursue. It is read as the quiet ground Life's Work stands on rather than a separate direction of its own.
How it shows up in a chart
Because Purpose sits in the unconscious half of the Activation Sequence, it tends to be recognized by people close to someone before that person names it in themselves, closer to a felt undertow than a stated belief.
