Mercury in Aries

Mercury describes how a person takes in information and puts it into words. Aries is cardinal fire ruled by Mars, so the mind here is quick, direct and argumentative in the useful sense: these people think out loud and commit to a view early. They are good in an emergency and good at cutting a long debate short. The cost is accuracy, since details get skipped, messages get sent before they are reread, and a first impression hardens into a conclusion. Slowing down is the whole discipline of this Mercury.
