The Lunar Return

The Lunar Return

The chart for each return of the Moon to its natal degree, about thirteen times a year.

A lunar return is the chart for the moment the Moon reaches its natal position, which happens about every twenty seven and a third days, giving thirteen of them a year. It is read as a description of the month ahead, principally for mood, domestic matters and short-term focus. Its usefulness is debated: the chart changes quickly, the angles move a great deal between returns, and small errors in birth time compound. Most practitioners who use it treat it as a supplement to transits and to the progressed Moon rather than as a standalone forecast.
