Gene Keys Spheres
A Gene Keys chart is called a Hologenetic Profile, and it is calculated from birth date, time and place, the same data an astrological chart uses. It plots eleven spheres rather than twelve houses, arranged in three sequences. The Activation Sequence holds Life's Work, Evolution, Radiance and Purpose. The Venus Sequence holds Attraction, IQ, EQ and SQ. The Pearl Sequence holds Vocation, Culture and the Pearl. Every sphere draws its key from a specific planetary position. Life's Work comes from the Sun and Purpose from the Earth. Attraction and EQ come from Venus, IQ and SQ from Mercury, Vocation and Culture from Mars, and the Pearl from Jupiter. Roughly half the spheres are calculated from the moment of birth and half from a point about three months earlier, the same conscious and unconscious split Human Design uses.
Life's Work
The Sun at the moment of birth, read consciously, gives the Life's Work sphere. It is the core identity position of the whole profile, naming what a person is here to do and to become known for. Contemplation usually starts here, since this archetype colors the baseline of everything else.
Evolution
Evolution is taken from the conscious Earth, sitting opposite the Sun. It names the growing edge: the specific friction whose repeated confrontation is how a person actually matures across a lifetime. Where Life's Work describes the work, Evolution describes what keeps getting in the way of it.
Radiance
Radiance comes from the unconscious Sun, on the Design side of the calculation. It describes the vitality and physical health pattern running beneath conscious awareness, the energetic signature others tend to notice long before the person carrying it does.
Purpose
Set opposite Radiance, Purpose is drawn from the unconscious Earth. It names the background sense of meaning that grounds Life's Work, operating more as instinct than as a stated goal, which is why it is often easier for other people to describe than for its owner.
Attraction
Attraction is the conscious Venus position and the center of the Venus Sequence, the profile's relationship layer. It describes the core relational pattern that draws people and circumstances in, and the rest of that sequence is read against it.
IQ
Read from the conscious Mercury, IQ maps communication and intellectual processing: how ideas get taken in, organized and expressed in relationships and in ordinary exchange. It is the deliberate, articulate half of the Venus Sequence's inner pair.
EQ
EQ sits beneath Attraction and is drawn from the unconscious Venus. It names early relational conditioning and the defenses built on top of it, the patterning that decides how safe intimacy actually feels, usually without announcing itself.
SQ
The unconscious Mercury gives SQ, a somatic and social intelligence rather than a verbal one. It is the body-level read on a situation or a person that arrives ahead of deliberate thought, and it pairs with IQ much as EQ pairs with Attraction.
Vocation
Vocation is the conscious Mars position and the opening of the Pearl Sequence, the profile's prosperity layer. It names working style and drive, the way effort and momentum actually get applied toward material outcomes.
Culture
Drawn from the unconscious Mars, Culture describes the environment and community that prosperity needs in order to take root. It is the surrounding condition that lets Vocation's drive turn into something sustained rather than episodic.
Pearl
Jupiter, read consciously, gives the Pearl, the culminating sphere of the profile. It is where Life's Work, Vocation and Culture converge into lasting material and creative abundance, and it is treated as a long-arc destination rather than an early milestone.
