Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) Chart Calculator
Your chart calculated in the KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) system, using its own ayanamsa plus sub-lord divisions, a refinement built specifically for sharper event-timing than standard Vedic technique. How it works ↓

KP astrology uses the Krishnamurti ayanamsa, a sidereal correction slightly different from Lahiri's, combined with sub-lord divisions for precise event timing. This calculator generates your chart in the KP sidereal frame.
The sub-lord is the real answer in KP
KP astrology further divides each nakshatra based on the same proportions used in Vimshottari dasha calculations, producing a "sub-lord" for the exact degree any planet or house cusp occupies. In KP practice, the sub-lord, not the sign or even the nakshatra, is treated as the real determinant of an outcome.
KP's ayanamsa isn't quite Lahiri
This calculator uses the KP ayanamsa, a correction figure close to Lahiri but not identical to it. Because of that small difference, a placement near a sign or nakshatra boundary can occasionally fall on a different side of the line here than it would in a Lahiri-based chart.
Built specifically for timing precision
K.S. Krishnamurti developed this system in the 20th century to sharpen event-timing beyond what standard Vedic technique offers, by reading sub-lords instead of stopping at sign and nakshatra.
How this differs from a standard Vedic chart
vedic-kundli and navamsa-d9 use the Lahiri ayanamsa and don't apply sub-lord divisions at all. They read sign, house, nakshatra, and pada. KP instead trades some of that traditional framework for the finer sub-lord layer described above. It's also a distinct system from raman-ayanamsa-chart, which changes the ayanamsa but keeps standard Vedic technique rather than adding sub-lords.
The dasha timeline is calculated but not shown here
Vimshottari dasha periods are computed as part of this chart but aren't displayed on this page. For current and upcoming dasha periods, use the vimshottari-dasha tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is KP more accurate than standard Vedic astrology?
Not more accurate, more granular for event timing. KP adds a sub-lord layer on top of standard technique specifically to sharpen timing questions; it isn't a correction to standard Vedic astrology, just a different tool for a different kind of question.
Do I need to know Vedic astrology to use KP?
No, but KP assumes familiarity with nakshatras and dasha proportions, since sub-lords are built from them. If you're new to sidereal astrology, vedic-kundli is a gentler starting point.
