A Kundli is a specific presentation, not just a zodiac choice. Where a plain sidereal chart (see sidereal-chart) gives you sign, house, and degree placements, this tool renders those same Lahiri-based positions in the North Indian square format that traditional Jyotish readers actually expect, and adds nakshatra and pada, which a plain sidereal chart doesn't show at all.
Nakshatra and pada refine every placement
Vedic astrology divides the zodiac into 27 nakshatras (lunar mansions), each spanning 13 degrees 20 minutes, and further splits each nakshatra into 4 padas (quarters). Every planet and house cusp in your Kundli is placed not just by sign, but by which nakshatra and pada it falls in, a level of detail specific to Jyotish practice.
The square layout is the point of this tool
Vedic astrologers read charts in a square grid, not a circular wheel, the North Indian style used here. If what you actually want is placements in that format, this is the right tool; a circular sidereal wheel is what you'd get from sidereal-chart instead.
A Kundli is your D1 chart, not a divisional chart
This is your main birth chart (D1) in Kundli form. It isn't the D9 Navamsa used to check a planet's inner strength (navamsa-d9), and it doesn't apply the sub-lord system of KP astrology (krishnamurti-kp-chart) or the Raman ayanamsa (raman-ayanamsa-chart). All of those build on a D1 like this one, or use a different ayanamsa entirely.

What's the difference between North and South Indian chart styles?
They present the same placements in different fixed layouts, North Indian uses a diamond grid where house position is fixed and signs rotate in; South Indian uses a fixed square grid where signs are fixed and houses rotate. This tool uses the North Indian style.
Does a Kundli use a different ayanamsa than a plain sidereal chart?
No. This Kundli uses the same Lahiri ayanamsa as the sidereal-chart tool, the difference is presentation (square layout, nakshatra, pada), not the underlying zodiac calculation.
